A great spot for night photography and long-time exposure. The bridge is pretty shaky with all these cars driving by, so you should have a good tripod with you and wait until there are only a few cars on the bridge.

If I'm coming from DUMBO Brooklyn side, would that still be the best way to get there? Is it possible to walk or would that take way too long? I haven't done this trip before.

In my opinion it's definitely worth it to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge, because the bridge itself is so unique with a stunning view towards the skyline of the city. If you want to get into the city of New York itself, you definitely should use the subway for nearly anything. If you are there for a few days, get yourself a ticket for multiple days and you are ready to go. I underestimated quite a lot of walks in New York, but that's also a great way to discover and feel the city. ;-)
