Excellent location for star photography on top of the Mauna Kea volcano.
It gets extremely cold at night during winter so dress appropriately. There's also some wind so make sure your tripod has some weights to prevent it from shaking in the wind.

Travel Information

Drive up the Mauna Kea Access Road. There are several parking lots that tend to get busy around sunset as there are lots of visitors for the NASA Satellites. It does quiet down quite a bit about an hour after sunset.
