This is one of the smaller falls in the George. But what it lacks in size it makes up in sheer beauty.

Photography Tips

Bring a sturdy tripod, a polarizer, and some ND filters.try shutter speeds of around a second for the milky look with some texture in it.

Travel Information

Thirty minutes east of Portland, the Columbia River flows between the state of Washington on the north side and Oregon on the south side. Fairy Falls are accessed from the Wahkeena Creek trail, starting at Wahkeena Falls in the Columbia River Gorge Scenic Corridor. Park at the Whakerna Falls parking lot and hike roughly half an hour up the Whakerna Trail to get to the falls. The falls are 1.2 miles and 500 vertical feet up from the bottom.
