These tide pools are one of the more known sunset spots for photography on Kauai. But there is a reason - this is an epic setting.

Photography Tips

Bring a sturdy tripod, your full arsenal of ND and grad ND filters, and shoes that have a grip on wet rocks. Also, watch the ocean carefully for a couple of minutes before picking a spot. It can be quite treacherous out there with high waves and rip currents.

Travel Information

Take the ring road towards Hanalei and turn off in Princeville. Follow the map through Princeville to get close. There is a path starting at the road closest to the spot itself. The hike down is just a couple of minutes. But wear something better than flip-flops!
