This is the spot to take a photo of the famed Lone Cypress Tree.

Photography Tips

I take all photos with my iPhone and since I don't have a the bells and whistles that the good cameras have I downloaded an app and used a slow a shutter speed to get more light.

Travel Information

You must pay $10 entrance fee to drive the 17 Mile route. It will probably take you about 1.5-2 hours if you stop along the way. The scenery is picturesque.

For this shot when you Look towards the end of the walkway/parking area and you'll find stairs that take you closer down to the tree. There are few people there as most don't realize the stairs are there and stay up top where it's uber crowded.

I wish I knew this spot when I was there... I saw it many times afterwards (as usual), but it seems a very good reason to come back to one of my favorite places in this world. Thank you for all these details and your wonderful photo Jennifer! (proves again that you don't need a big DSLR to get a good photo like this one)
