USA Blackwater Falls

Blackwater Falls State Park can be reached by car. You have to walk down some steps to reach the waterfall from the car park, but no more than a 10 minute walk as a conservative estimate. Trail to this main overlook is very well maintained otherwise, as you might see from the winding boardwalk it was designed to blend in organically with the surroundings.

This area can be fairly heavily trafficked depending on what time of day or year you go, for photography early morning or late afternoon / evening would be your best bet for less crowds. A little patience helps too, the casual tourist tends to visit and hang out at the overlook for a few minutes, it did not take too long for me to wait until I had a clear view of this boardwalk with no one in front on a late September weekday afternoon.

The park also has their own lodge / hotel accommodations, great place to stay if you want to wake up early the next morning for some photography with less crowds.
