USA Huialoha Church, Maui
Huialoha Church was built in 1859 and sits on the point of Mokulau, Kaupo. This is located in the southern area of Maui.
Photography Tips
This was a pretty simple shot. Compose, point, and shoot. Details of the shot are below:
Camera: Nikon D7200
Lens: Sigma 18-35 f/1.8
Shutter Speed: 1/100 sec.
Aperture: f/8
ISO: 125
Focal Length: 32mm on a crop sensor camera (so about 48mm full frame)
It can be windy, so I would recommend a sturdy tripod if you want to use one. However, this area is well-lit during the morning/afternoon so it's unlikely you would need a tripod. I've read that this area is one of the first places in Maui to experience the sunrise, but it's difficult to get here so early unless you're staying in the town of Hana.

Travel Information
There are no shortcuts - despite what Google maps may show. There are two options:
1. Come around the north via the Road to Hana. Traffic can be slow until reaching Hana. This is probably the most popular. However, I didn't think the Road to Hana was all that scenic.
2. Come from the south side of Haleakala. There is a section of road which not paved and rental companies may not help you if stranded. I didn't think it was that bad and made the drive a couple of times with a Ford Mustang.
I would *strongly* recommend photographing this area in the late afternoon and then heading west on 31, then north on 37. The sunset in this direction is AMAZING!
