USA Tribute in Light, New York City Skyline
This spot near the Brooklyn Bridge is one of the best places to get a great photo of the skyline of New York. It's maybe obvious, but if you want to get a good sunset shot you have to be early because depending on the season there are often a lot of photographers and you don't want to be in the last row with your tripod.
Photography Tips
Try to be there on September 11. That's the time when they activate these amazing lights, which can be seen at 6600 meters altitude. Sometimes it is also worth it to be there a day before because they usually do trial runs in the evening.
A good ND filter is very helpful for obvious reasons. This is the perfect place for long-time exposures, but in case you don't have a filter you can wait until the blue hour (like I did in this case) to achieve this silky effect in the clouds or the water.
Come early if you want the best place for shooting, because this spot is often full of photographers, especially in high season.

You can use the subway to Brooklyn or walk over the Brooklyn Bridge to get here. It is pretty easy to find as long as you stay near the East River in southern direction.
