An amazing natural arch in southern Utah.

Photography Tips

Ultra-wide angle or fisheye lens preferred. The photo shown is two fisheye shots stitched together. Different times of day will offer different lighting. Getting the sun off the rim requires late morning and a tripod very high up the side of the cave.

Travel Information

The remote area of the desert with no amenities or conveniences nearby. Bring water. There are a couple of dirt roads leading off of the paved road, each leading to a flat area suitable for parking. There are no signs or visible trails, but look up into the hills and you'll see what looks like two caves: that's where you want to go. To get there you'll first have to hike down into a dry river valley, then up the other side on an open rock incline. It will take about an hour to make the climb. Just before the cave, you'll have to make a decision decide between dropping down a two-meter rock face or wading through a pool of water. I recommend going through the water because if you sprain your ankle out there, you'll be in big trouble...
