USA Upper Antelope Canyon

Slot Canyon is just outside of Page Arizona.

Can only access the slot Canyon with a local tour company. The canyons are extremely busy (hundreds of people touring the canyon at any one time) but the Navajo guides are excellent. Once you get in the canyon you will have a limited amount of time to get your shots. And because it is very busy it is difficult to get shots without any people. Make sure you have your camera set beforehand and don't change any lenses in the canyon as it is very dusty and sandy in there. Possibly even use a cover on your camera to keep the dust-out.

You used to be able to pay extra money to take the "photography tour", but these have been discontinued. For those, you were able to take a tripod on the tour. These were for 10-12 photographers at a time so it was pretty crowded together. The guides would keep the tourists back so you could get your photos taken without any people in them. As mentioned, however, these tours have been discontinued.

There are several tour companies in and around Page which have access to Upper and Lower Antelope Canyons. The photo tour is only available in Upper Antelope Canyon. The tour company will transport you from their location to the canyon.
