USA Double Arch, Arches National Park
Double Arch is in the window section, which is considered by some to be the beating heart of Arches National Park. The area contains a large concentration of arches and is one of the most scenic locations in the park. North window, Turret Arch, and Double Arch are just a few of the awe-inspiring expanses you will find in just over two square miles. Other named features in this area include the Garden of Eden, Elephant Butter and Parade of Elephants.
Photography Tips
Use your widest lens here, anything wider than 24mm is recommended if you want the most dramatic shots, and for night shots be sure to bring a tripod and a few headlamps.
Travel Information
The trailhead is about 15 minutes drive from the entrance of the park and the trail is only half a mile from the parking lot to the Arch and is very flat. This gently sloping trail leads to the base of two giant arch spans that are joined at one end. Hikers choosing to scramble up the rock beneath the arches should plan their route carefully, as climbing up is often easier than climbing back down.
