USA the CalEdison Building
The former Southern California Edison Building was one of the first all-electrically heated and cooled buildings in the United States. It was completed in 1931, and is a good example of the Zigzag phase of Art Deco architecture.
Photography Tips
Only the street-level lobby is open to the visitors, Monday - Friday during business hours. It may be open on Saturday also.
Travel Information
Parking can be a problem. If you have a Los Angeles Library Card, you can park at the 524 South Flower Street Garage at discounted rate at designated hours (validation at the Central Library is required; the discounted rate is only applicable when the Central Library is open). Otherwise, take the Metro rail to 7th St./Metro Ctr. or Pershing Square, and walk a few blocks.
