USA Lighthouse and Rocks
I accidentally stumbled upon this spot. I drove along Diamond Head Rd. and saw a parking lot to the right and a lot of people watching the sunset from the top of the cliffs. But what caught my eyes was the beach below, with cool black and white rock formations and cliffs to play with. I walked down a paved path for ca. 500m and at the shower you turn right and go for another ca. 400m on the beach until you are on a black lave field. Here the fun begins, cliffs to your right, the sun setting in front of you and a lighthouse on top of the cliffs. And of course, some neat rock and stone formations. No one else was there, even though it was a beautiful sunset with red skies.
Photography Tips
Bring a wide angle lens (24mm or less) to get in all, the cliffs and the the stones in the foreground. Also if you have a grad ND Filter will help to get the skies right at sunset. Perfect for sunsets between November and Februar, after that the sun might set behind the cliffs.
