Summers can get very crowded here but you can drive all around the lake to find composition you like.
Winters offer more solitude and if you are comfortable with snow camping, you will likely have the viewpoints to yourselves. Many amazing vantage point exists. This photo was captured approximately 8 miles from trailhead in clockwise direction.

Travel Information
For GPS: The park has no physical address. The Steel Visitor Center (open year round) is at 42° 53' 48.91"N 122° 08' 03.08"W or you can enter "Crater Lake" as a town or waypoint.
Be prepared for all kind of weather! I was there in September and a snow storm just passed. The whole location is at least 1800m above sea level.
