Beautiful area, fairly easy hike to the formations from the trail head, Not to difficult to explore on your own. Usually few people are there as it is a 2 hour drive with a 4x4 to get to the trail head.

Photography Tips

Get a local guide who knows the area so you do not wast a lot of time. There is a LOT to see, no trail markers and it can get hot. Get there as early as you can as sunrise and sunset are the best times to photograph here.

Travel Information

Highway 89A to Vermilion Cliffs National Monument. Take House Rock Road North. If you have the permit from the Interior Dept they will send you a map that will show you the rest of the way. If you do not have a permit please do not go here.
