USA La Sal Mountains Viewpoint
Arches National Park is home to more than 2,000 natural sandstone arches. In addition to arches, the monoliths, fins, hoodoos, and petrified sand dunes are subjects of endless photo compositions. I like visiting during the winter when the brilliant colored Navajo sandstone contrasts with snow or after a rainfall when endless water pockets are filled and intensifies the colors.
Photography Tips
This is a great sunrise or sunset location. This image was shot looking west from the La Sal Mountains Viewpoint. The overlook is pocked with water pockets that become very photogenic after a heavy rain.
