USA Wahkeena Creek Cascade

This cascade is one of many cascades and waterfalls along the Multnomah Wahkeena Falls Loop Hike in the Columbia River Gorge. The “National Scenic Area” is on the south side of the Columbia River in Oregon. Characterized by lush old growth forest, this area is a waterfall lovers paradise.

As is the case for all the waterfalls in this area, you must arrive very early to find a parking spot. There are many parking lots spread along the scenic byway but due to the popularity of the area, all the lots fill up quickly. In fact by mid morning the scenic drive will likely be bumper to bumper in traffic. Off season mid week visit is best.

From the parking area just north of Wahkeena Falls, head west, then wind your way uphill along the Wahkeena trail to a footbridge crossing Wahkeena Creek.
