USA Pleasant Creek
One of the least visited areas in Capitol Reef NP but very beautiful. I’ve hiked the creek several times and only saw one family of four total. The hike to this spot requires crossing the shallow creek numerous times. I suggest wearing water shoes or shoes you don’t mind getting wet.
Travel Information
Take the Scenic Drive in Capitol Reef National Park to the beginning of Capitol Gorge (at the end of the scenic drive). Then take the gravel road labeled "Pleasant Creek" which branches off to the right. Drive 2.6 miles until the road meets Pleasant Creek. The last several hundred meters of the road is fairly deep sand, so 4WD is recommended. There is an obvious parking area just before the creek. DO NOT DRIVE ACROSS THE CREEK. It’s a very difficult and unnecessary crossing.
