USA Unknown Arch
There are probably hundreds of arches in Valley of Fire State Park. Most of them are relatively small in comparison to those found in Arches National Park. This one is just large enough to crawl under but is still photogenic. I don’t know if it’s a named arch. If it is, I don’t know the name. The area where it’s found is very pretty with brilliant orange, white, and yellow sandstone everywhere.
Travel Information
From the Valley of Fire Visitor Center drive 13 miles (21km) to the Fire Wave parking area (parking area #3). There are parking areas on both sides of the road. From the parking area on the west side of the road, find the drainage at the north end of the lot and turn left. Work your way down the drainage until it opens up and forks after a couple of minutes. Take the path to the right and try to stay close to the white rock features to get to a couple of small (just large enough to walk under) but very nice arches. The one pictured here will come into view in a minute or two on the left side of the path.
