USA Grand View
Colorado National Monument preserves one of the grand landscapes of the American West. But this treasure is much more than a monument. Towering monoliths exist within a vast plateau and canyon panorama. You can experience sheer-walled, red rock canyons along the twists and turns of Rim Rock Drive, where you may spy bighorn sheep and soaring eagles (from the U.S. National Park website).
Photography Tips
We arrived in Grand Junction Colorado late in the afternoon on an overcast day intending to drive up to the monument early the next day. As we were heading out for dinner, the skies began to clear so we decided make a quick drive up Rimrock Drive. It turned out to be a good decision. Early morning should work well also.
