USA Zion Canyon
From the last shuttle stop in Zion Canyon, after a short two minute stroll up the “Riverside Walk”, veer to left at the first of numerous access paths leading to the river. The wall on the far side of this little cascade is normally dry. During spring snow melt and after a heavy rain a seasonal waterfall appears. You may continue one mile (1.6 km) down the riverside walk to the beginning of the Zion Narrows. The trail to the Narrows is paved and is wheelchair accessible although there are a few somewhat steep areas.
Photography Tips
Carry a tripod, polarizing filter, and ND filter. One could spend hours just photographing the canyon from the shuttle stop to the Narrows.
Travel Information
From the Zion National Park Visitor Center, take the free shuttle to the last shuttle stop at the “Temple of Sinawava”. There are restrooms and water bottle filling stations there. When the shuttles aren’t running (which is only during a few weeks in the Fall and winter) there is a large parking area that usually fills by 9 AM.
