USA Taft Point, Yosemite National Park
Taft Point provides a VERY direct view over Yosemite Valley. Most people never see it as the tour bus continues up the road to the more famous (and overcrowded) Glacier Point.
Photography Tips
Nerves of steel.
Travel Information
There is parking, though it can get crowded in high season. Usually, open from May till November. From the parking lot there are two main trails, to the right is Sentinal Dome, and to the left is Taft Point. It takes about an hour's hike to get there, and if you're going for sunset, be sure to bring a flashlight and follow the trail carefully to get back out.
