USA Astoria-Megler Bridge
The Astoria–Megler Bridge is a steel cantilever through truss bridge in the northwest United States that spans the lower Columbia River, between Astoria, Oregon, and Point Ellice near Megler, Washington. Opened in 1966, it is the longest continuous truss bridge in North America.
Photography Tips
Bring a ND filter, wide angle lens and tripod. The day I traveled through, the incoming fog was just beginning to shroud the bridge.
Travel Information
Drive south on US-30/Marine Drive in Astoria until you get to the traffic light just north of the bridge (at the Holiday Inn-Express, which is on your right.) Turn right at the light, into the dead-end drive and park at the pilings, just in front of a boardwalk. Walk onto the boardwalk and pick your best spot!
