USA Scotts Bluff National Monument
Scotts Bluff National Monument is located west of the City of Gering in western Nebraska, United States. This National Park Service site protects over 3,000 acres of historic overland trail remnants, mixed-grass prairie, rugged badlands, towering bluffs and riparian area along the North Platte River. The park boasts over 100,000 annual visitors.
Photography Tips
Bring a landscape zoom lens and be careful not to step on any of the cactus that are concealed in the grass.
Travel Information
Scotts Bluff National Monument is located near Gering in western Nebraska. There is a manned entry gate, but at the time of my visit (mid-October 2020) the admission was free. After entering the gate, there is a short two-mile drive to the summit of the bluff.
