USA Factory Butte Viewpoint
A half dozen or so 1-inch pipes are mounted and labeled on stakes pointing at various landmarks on the horizon at the large pullout on the side of Utah Highway 24. Look through the pipes to see their exact location. Factory Butte is prominent in the distance. It’s possible to drive very near to this famous butte. Kathline Rock is directly across the highway from the pullout. A dirt/sand road leads behind Kathline Rock where there’s room for multiple vehicles to park.
Photography Tips
Camping is allowed in the area (free) behind Kathline Rock making this a great spot for sunrise/sunset and night sky photography. There is minimal traffic on the road after dark but the occasional illumination of the rocks by vehicle headlights can be used for dramatic effect.
