USA Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument
A drive of about 10 miles (16 km) east of Escalante, Utah is a vast sea of slickrock and canyons. The highway winds for miles among the slickrock, affording endless photo compositions.

Travel Information
Just off UT 12, about 0.7 miles (1.1 km) east of the Head of the Rocks Overlook, turn right on the dirt Spencer Flats Road and park on the side of the road at the first opportunity. Then cross highway 12 roughly following the remnants of a barbed wire fence for about 150 feet until you reach a cluster of yellow hoodoos with the slickrock vista far below. There are no facilities here.
