USA Kolob Terrace Rd
As you drive east on Utah Highway SR9 from St. George, Utah you’ll pass the tiny town of Virgin, Utah. Immediately across the road from the Fairfield Inn (Marriott) is Kolob Terrace Road. The vast majority of visitors heading to Zion National Park race by this road not knowing they’re missing a beautiful area providing a spectacular and very different perspective of Zion. As you turn off of SR9, the road almost immediately pays dividends as it winds upward, passing in and out of the boundaries of Zion several times. There are a half dozen or so trailheads along this road including the famous Zion Subway (permit required). From approximately mid-May through October, it’s possible to drive the road all the way to highway 14 just east of Cedar City.
