USA Arthur's Rock, Lory State Park, Colorado
The Arthur's Rock trail is a three mile round trip hike just west of Fort Collins in Lory State Park. The summit looks East over Horsetooth Reservoir and the entire Front Range. There's not much to see looking West, but the Eastern view is quite nice.
Photography Tips
The views are nice, but there's nothing too dramatic in the landscapes. Might want to bring a long lens and zoom in on some aspects of the horizon, rather than shooting wide and trying to capture the whole front range. Depending on the day, the cloud patterns can be pretty impressive, so consider making them the subject of your image.
Travel Information
Google will get you to the trailhead, but be warned that you'll have to enter Lory State Park and pay the entrance fee to get there. The elevation gain is about 1000 feet on the 1.5 mile ascent, so it's moderately steep. As always, stay safe with water, microspikes, etc.
