USA South Lake Wenatchee
I often struggle with winter time shots but heard of this location on the south end of Lake Wenatchee in eastern Washington State. It provides a nice tree covered island with some foreground potential and nice reflection. I had just been waiting for the right sky. The hard part is the winter weather; it was 15F/-10C.
Photography Tips
For the winter dress warm. You will need some good shoes to wade through the snow to get to the site. You will need a tripod as the skies are dark enough that the shutter speed will be inherently slow.
Travel Information
Travel on Highway 2 to Coles Corner in eastern Washington which is just west of Leavenworth. Turn north and look for the signage to SOUTH Lake Wenatchee on the left hand side of the road. Follow the road to its end and a carpark and make your way to the shoreline where the shot will be obvious.
