USA Mesquite Dunes
This is out in the middle of the Mesquite Dunes in Death Valley. It takes about an hour to walk into this part of the dunes from the parking lot. Basically, park and start heading north/northeast, and you'll eventually hit the bigger dunes.
Photography Tips
I would set aside a couple of days to shoot. The first day you can shoot, but you're really more looking around for a good place to shoot. You can then head out the next day before sunrise and get to the spot before the sun gets too high.
Travel Information
The parking lot for the dunes is just east of Stovepipe Wells in Death Valley and along 190. Once you pay to get in the park, there is no fee for day parking at the dunes.
