USA North Lake In Autumn
The best spot for this shot is on the eastern edge of the lake, but you will need to cross the access stream to get to it. There is a small beach where a tripod can be set up.
Photography Tips
Images in autumn typically only occur in a very narrow range of time, and it's different every year. My image took me three seasons to get. I would either go up to early in the season and the colors had not come out, or there was a storm a day or so before I showed up and it blew all of the leaves off the treas. Additionally, when the fall colors are out expect a lot of photographers.
Travel Information
Head west out of Bishop, California, on state highway 168. It will take you up into the sierras towards Sabrina Lake. About a mile before Sabrina Lake, turn right on North Lake Road. It's a windy, steep, dirt road that narrows to one lane before reaching the lake. The distance from the turnoff off of 168 is a mile.
