USA Ruby Beach Sea Stacks
The northern coast of Washington State has some beautiful and wild scenic sites: this one is Ruby Beach with sea stacks located just off shore. When the conditions are right the sunsets can be fantastic. It rains here a lot so one has to get lucky.
Photography Tips
Late spring here seems to give the best conditions for the sunset with a little less rain. The beach is wide with multiple sea stacks and plenty of area of composition. A tripod is good.
Travel Information
It is a long drive from Seattle along Highway 101 but really beautiful. This site has a great parking area right where the road meets the coast driving south from Forks. There is a short walk down to the beach, which is very wide. This shot requires a short wade across a creek to get to the north side. There is a camp site ten miles south in Kalaloch.
