USA Capitol Reef National Park: Glass Mountain
Glass Mountain is a 15 foot high mound containing large gypsum crystals. It is within Capitol Reef National Park and near the 5,822 foot (1,775 meter) rock monolith 'Temple of the Sun'.
Photography Tips
Shoot when the sun is low to reflect the sun off the gypsum.
Travel Information
4x4 high clearance vehicle is recommended. Feature is 16 miles off the nearest main road. Caineville Wash Road is a mixture of washboard, slick rock, and deep sand. There is no mobile cell service in the area.
