USA Glacier National Park, Grinnell Glacier
Located along trailhead on the way to Grinnell Glacier. Beautiful example of an alpine lake. It is also on the way to the foot of the glacier which is worth its own set of photos. Big payoff for the long hike.
Photography Tips
This location can be full of glare. In the AM the sun will be behind you but the sun needs to be high enough to be above the mountains. In the PM you will be looking into the sun.
Travel Information
Parking is at the Grinnell Glacier Trailhead. You then need to hike in (the total distance to the Glacier basin is 11.2 miles). This view is of Grinnell Lake which is about 2/3 of the way in. The trail is moderate to hard and good hiking boots are necessary.
