This is a serene location on the Great South Bay just a 5 Min walk from the Fire Island Lighthouse. Sunset is best. If you come earlier and the Lighthouse is open, you can climb it for great views of Ocean and Bay and the Fresnel Building showing the original lens.

Photography Tips

Long exposures are best as the boat traffic makes the wavelet action quite "noisy" and distracting.

Travel Information

Park in Field 5 of Robert Moses State Park and walk 20 minutes on wooden walks to the Lighthouse. There is a parking fee during the summer months. Do not drive beyond the check point onto Burma Road. Getting caught is very expensive.
