USA Valley of Fire
There are probably hundreds of arches and thousands of smaller “windows” in Valley of Fire State Park. Most of them are relatively small in comparison to those found in Arches National Park. This one is just large enough to comfortably crawl under. Valley of Fire is a vast area of multi-colored twisting and swirling sandstone.
Photography Tips
Wide angle lens (10 to 14mm) works best for this arch. Apart from the arches, I use a 24-105mm for most everything else. Early morning and late afternoon works best. The already brilliantly colored sandstone is even more enriched after heavy rain.
Travel Information
Located just inside the east entrance to Valley of Fire State Park on the south side of the road. Restroom located in the parking area. The parking area is also the trailhead to Elephant Rock (another arch) which is just a five minute stroll. There’s a $10 US entrance fee to the park or $15 for non-Nevada residents.
