USA Canyon in Zion’s East Side
I’ve not been able to find a name for this canyon on the east side of Zion National Park but it is very photogenic especially after heavy rain when the water pockets are full.
Photography Tips
I used a 14-24mm and a 24-70mm lens. If I had to choose one, it would be the 14-24mm. I was there mid afternoon.
Travel Information
From the east end of the Zion Mt. Carmel Tunnel, drive east for 2 miles/3.2km to a pullout on the right. From the east entrance to Zion, drive west for 3.3 miles/5.3km to the pullout. Work your way down to the normally dry Pine Creek bed on the south side of the road. Turn left and walk a minute or so until you see a drainage tunnel leading to the north side of the road. The tunnel is large enough to walk through without stooping but the floor is rocky and uneven and a headlamp or artificial light of some kind would be useful since it is dark in the tunnel.
