Nice view of the Nenana River from a spot near the Nenana River Bridge. This place is even more beautiful during autumn when all the trees are so colorful, allowing you to probably get the best possible photo from this spot.
Photography Tips
A partially obstructed view is at the Nenana River sign on the right side of the road. From that sign, look for a narrow (12-inch wide) path leading to the right. About 30 feet up the path, someone has cleared the brush for this unobstructed view. Be careful not to get too close to the edge. A misstep and fall would be catastrophic.
Travel Information
From the intersection of Parks Highway (Alaska Highway 3) and Healy Road in Healy Alaska, drive south for 5.7 miles/9.2 km where there’s room to park on the left side of the road just before the Nenana Bridge. Cross the road and step over the guardrail, then walk toward the Nenana River sign.
