One of dozens of photogenic finger canyons on the less visited side of Zion National Park.

Photography Tips

Late afternoon works best.

Travel Information

From the east entrance to Zion National Park, drive 0.7 miles/1.1 km to the pullout at 37.2259022, -112.8875507 or about 200 yards/meters further west to a pullout at 37.2268056, -112.8843414. There’s room for 2 or 3 vehicles at each pullout. Park and drop into the normally dry Pine Creek on the north side of SR9, then make your way up the sandstone ramp leading to a cluster of hoodoos. This photo was taken a few yards/meters beyond the hoodoos, facing up canyon. The closest vault toilets are just inside the entrance to Zion.
