USA Wakodahatchee Wetlands
The 3/4 Mile boardwalk that crosses between open water and marsh areas is home to many of South Florida's native birdlife. If you enjoy photographing birds this is a must stop as it is part of the Great Florida Birding Trail.
Photography Tips
You will need the longest lens you have to get closeups of the birds here. Arrive as soon as they open. Much of the wildlife will find shelter from the hot Florida sun as the day progresses on.
Travel Information
There is plenty of parking and the boardwalk is accessible to everyone. Exit The Florida Turnpike at Atlantic Avenue and travel east to Jog Road. Go North on Jog for a bit and Wakodahatchee will be on your right. Just a side tip, bring mosquito repellant. Just don't get it on your gear.1
