USA Chicago Skyline from Ashland CTA station

Most of the photographers get those standard photographs of the skyline of Chicago from the lake side, which is more than fine, because these spots are very beautiful. This spot however is a little bit more unique and it offers great opportunities to include the CTA trains in your photography. Even long time exposures at night look great, because you can use the light trails of the train to lead the eye of the viewer towards the city. As you can see there are many reasons to visit this spot, even at daytime without a sunrise behind the skyline of Chicago.

If you are doing a long-exposure, make sure that you capture the trains coming from the front until they pass, because these from behind will pass the bridge and therefore will result in shakes. Bulb mode with a remote control is extremely helpful for that so that you can react individually to the trains.
