USA Olin Park Beach
This is a great spot with a beautiful view of the City of Madison skyline which is dominated by the Wisconsin State Capitol building. There is a boat launch and walking trails in this park, so make sure you take in all the views!
Photography Tips
Madison doesn't have any skyscrapers. In fact, buildings cannot be built higher than the bottom of the Capitol Building's columns. With that in mind, you don't need a super wide angle lens to capture the city. My photo was taken with a full-frame camera at 105mm. During summer - and especially on holidays - this is a busy spot, so using long exposure as I did can help remove some of the "busy-ness".
Travel Information
When traveling toward the city on John Nolen Dr, take a right on E. Lakeside St and follow it to the first parking lot on the left. Go to the opposite corner of the parking lot where it'll connect to the boat launch area which will give you access to the short walk to this spot. You can park in the first parking lot or on one of the sides of the boat launch area.
