Great Falls Nationalpark is in Maryland and in Virginia. You have access from both states to this Park. However I prefer the Maryland side by far.
It is very beautiful and just about 30 minutes from Washington D.C. It's really worth it! You can see Waterfalls, Creeks, Birds, Turtles, ...

Photography Tips

I would recommend to bring a tripod.

Travel Information

There's a lot of parking there, entrance is $10 but you can get the Great Falls National park pass worth all year for both parks for $30 or the US National park pass for $80 that will grant you access to all national parks in the US.
