This is my favorite spot in Washington DC to take a picture of the US Capitol building.

Photography Tips

This is a nice place to take picture of the US Capitol building from the street at any time of the day. I would however advice to go there for either the sunrise or the blue hour. I think those are the best time to get a beautiful picture here. Also, don't forget your tripod, a remote and maybe a ND filter. Finally, always try a "long exposure" (at least few seconds) to get car trails. It's an amazing spot for that.
