USA Devils Tower
Devils Tower (also Bear Lodge Butte) is a laccolithic butte composed of igneous rock in the Bear Lodge Mountains (part of the Black Hills) near Hulett and Sundance in Crook County, northeastern Wyoming, above the Belle Fourche River. It rises dramatically 1,267 feet (386 m) above the Belle Fourche River, standing 867 feet (265 m) from summit to base. The summit is 5,112 feet (1,559 m) above sea level.
Devil's Tower was the first declared United States National Monument, established on September 24, 1906, by President Theodore Roosevelt. The Monument's boundary encloses an area of 1,347 acres (545 ha).
In recent years, about 1% of the Monument's 400,000 annual visitors climbed Devils Tower, mostly using traditional climbing techniques. (Wikipedia)
As it's a national monument you have to pay entrance to the NPS.

Photography Tips
Go there for sunrise or sunset. During the day you will have harsh contrast. My pictures are taken during sunset. From this spot you don`t need a wide-angle lens, standard zoom will be fine. Try to find something for the foreground to get more depth.
I went there around September and I like the golden tone of the dry grass.
It's far outside the standard tourist routes but if you have the chance go there. On this spot, I was complete on my own.

Travel Information
There is only on road leading into the park. on the way up there is only one intersection. There you turn left, but watch out it doesn't seem to be the right road as it is a dirt road, but that's the right way (check map parking is just at the spot). The street is good for 2WD.
