Where is the best place to get a great photo of all that's happening at Times Square in New York? In my opinion, it's just in between everything to capture that crowded feeling, mixed with all these amazing colours. Use the time while the traffic is waiting for the next green phase and jump between the cabs, but please always take care and pay attention to the traffic!

Photography Tips

The best perspectives are usually those from the street, so you might use the green phase of the traffic lights to get a quick shot. Keep paying attention to the traffic though, because you don't want to be that guy, who is standing alone on the street and blocking it for the cars.

Travel Information

The best and only ways to get to Times Square are by subway or by cab. There are many subway stations around, so you should be able to get there with many different lines.

Hey Manuel, i wonder what focal lens did you use? I intend to travel to NYC and want to know if a non fish-eye lens can be used to capture the street cross and the top of the buildings

Hey dear Vio, that should be quite easy and it very much depends on the position and angle you are standing. I used a 17-50mm lens as far as I know on an older Canon 7D APS-C camera. If you have a full-frame camera, then it's even easier to achieve a view like that. Have a great time in New York and safe travels. It's such an amazing city!
