USA Clock Tower, Custom House, Boston
The Boston Clock Tower, aka Custom House, is a Mariott Hotel with an outdoor observation platform at the top of the tower, which provides a 360° surround view of Boston. Great panoramic views of the harbour, the Bridges, the harbour and the city.
Photography Tips
The observation deck is fenced in and you need to shoot through the fence posts. If you do night photography, you will need a tall tripod (5-6 ft) or a gorilla pod that wraps around the posts. If it is windy, long exposures get blurry, because the entire tower moves.
Travel Information
GPS: 42.359044, -71.053556 The hotel lets visitors up twice a day, except Friday (their busiest check-in/out day), around 3 pm and 6 pm (call ahead to make sure). You can stay as long as you like. Evening access is $7, including a free non-alcoholic drink (the $14 alcoholic option is not worth it, the bar is very small). Bring long lenses to zoom into details and observe the busy life on the Greenway.
