Uzbekistan Registan, Northern Door Frame to the East, Samarkand

  • Please log in or sign up for free to see the GPS coordinates & weather for this photo spot
The northern building of the Registan has two entry doors. Take the left one and turn around. You will see the amazing eastern building being framed when looking through the door. All the details are simply stunning.

Photography Tips

This shot needs an ultra-wide angle lens and a bit of try and error. It's not easy to get the Eastern building of the square perfectly into the frame. Make sure to create several shots and use bracketing for multiple exposures if your camera is not capable of a high dynamic range.

Travel Information

The Registan square is one of the central points of the town. You can easily reach it by public transport, walking distance from hotels/hostels or use the Yandex Go app for a taxi. If you wanna enter for sunrise (which is possible), ask for the manager the day before and try to get access.
