Husband of one, father of three, and grandfather of seven; civil engineer; amateur astronomer and twice president of our local club; amateur photographer; user, programmer, and minor collector of Hewlett-Packard scientific calculators; Mathcad user; history buff; day hiker (mostly Yosemite, Sequoia, and Kings Canyon National Parks); tent camper; occasional bicycle rider; retired youth group leader; retired Sunday School teacher; long retired fast food "chef", etc. I like to travel, but this "work thing" gets in the way.
My "fancy cameras" have included: Olympus OM-1N, Olympus OM-4T, Olympus E-1, Olympus E-5, Olympus E-M1 Mk II, and Olympus E-M1 Mk III.
My photography is not very focused (pun intended) and I dabble in many genres. Basically, I shoot what looks interesting to me at the moment. I help this process along by doing photography days with a specific purpose. For example, my day hikes and trips to the local zoo double as photography days. Over the years, I have done project documentation photography related to my work; landscapes; simple astrophotography, including the Moon, the Sun (with specialty filter), and star trails; events, mostly family and at our church; portraiture (when I have to), candids (much more fun), architecture, wildlife (at zoos, not on safari), abstracts, macro, time lapse, etc. I take a minimalist approach to processing. Most of the time I want my images to look natural or only slightly enhanced. However, once in a while I will get crazy and push the colors, contrast, etc.
