The northern of two routes from Ruta Nacional 40 to the Cave of the Hands crosses the Cañadón Caracoles. A few hundred metres before reaching the canyon, it can be glimpsed to the east.

This road is closed to campers (with two-wheel drive), because it crosses the Cañadón Caracoles on loose gravel with curves and a steep gradient followed by a steep incline.
